This document describes the FAIR data infrastructure set up to manage and grow the Global Heat Flow Database (GHFDB) as part of the World Heat Flow Database Project. It provides a broad overview of the project and the intention behind this infrastructure, describes current and planned features of the data portal and provides guides for both users and developers of the portal. This documentation is a constant work-in-progress and feedback and suggestions are welcome via the Github repository. See the Contributing page for more information on how to contribute to this documentation and/or the codebase itself.
